MLM... continuation...

Hi all...

I think that I am obliged to explain to you more about multi level marketing. As you all know. it is always in a shape of a pyramid... always a pyramid... not a cube.. not a cylinder.. not a hexagon.. The top management will always get the most income. Hmmmm... Think about it...

Lets look at it this way...

Manufacturers, manufacture products and produce stuff needed by consumers... How do you think they supply this goods to the end consumers? They have distributors and suppliers right? How much profit margin do they gain? And... how much does consumers has to pay for the goods in order to cover all the profit margins for the suppliers? Distributors? Manufacturers?

Lets say... a body powder manufacturer sells a box of baby body powder for RM12. There is a dozen bottles of body powder in the box. A distributor buys 12 boxes for RM144+ lorry fuel+workers wages... How much will the distributor sell the body powder per box to a supplier? He/she might increase the price per box in order to cover the cost incurred during the time of transporting the product to the supplier. Then, the supplier transport the body powder to retailers and this time they increase the price a bit more to cover the cost of the process, same thing the distributor does... So, consumer won't be supprised when buying a bottle of body powder straight from the manufacturer for the price of RM1 per bottle, whilst from a retail store for the price of maybe RM5 per bottle. It is expected right?

So, lets get backk to MLM. What does all these has to do with MLM right? Let me explain... Remember when I say that MLM is a pyramid?

  • Guess who is on the tip of the pyramid? Good ;o) the manufacturer ;o)

  • Whose working so hard at the bottom of the pyramid? Good... the retailers, which is also known as the marketers... Is it easy to market? No right? You have to work hard!!!

  • Who is sitting comfortably below the manufacturer? Yes.. the distributors..

  • Below them?... yes.. the suppliers... Ever heard "regional distributors"? Hmmmm... makes you ponder right?

I'm not saying it is a bad thing... MLM is proven as a method that helped a lot of people to get income... Undeniably hard right? Imagine and think... If the company is established in 1980, how long has it been around? And... if you join the company, will you be on the tip of the pyramid? the middle section of the pyramid? or.... the bottom of the pyramid???? CNI, Hi-O, Avon, etc were established in the 80s... If you join recently... I mean within this 5 years period... where are you actually??? Think please...

If the MLM company is established in 2007... is there any chance for you to be on the top half of the pyramid? There's a chance right? Think about it...

The Future of Fashion Merchandising

Assalamualaikum.. Hi all...
This is some info I found on the web about the future of Fashion Merchandising to show you that we don't teach you this course just for fun without overseeing you future take on it...
This info is from http://wwwallartschools.com/faqs/fashionmerchandising-job

What is Fashion Merchandising All About?
Every great boutique or department store needs a Wizard of Oz—someone behind the curtain making everything appear as impressive as possible—someone deciding to stock ruby slippers because they're the next big thing. Fashion merchandising experts accomplish tasks like these on a regular basis.

Fashion merchandising requires a blend of fashion sense and business expertise. Style alone won't yield a successful career in this field. Staying ahead of the fashion curve is a feat involving both art and science. Strategy and marketing know-how are an integral part of fashion merchandising.

Fashion Merchandising Tasks
As a fashion merchandiser, your job is to connect fashion with consumers. To reach that goal, you may do a variety of tasks, including the following:
1. Attending fashion shows
2. Buying fashions
3. Negotiating with suppliers and manufacturers
4. Managing retail outlets
5. Setting up store displays
6. Advertising and marketing

Skills Needed
1. Forecasting Ability - While more methodical than fortune telling, fashion merchandising does require forecasting ability. A thorough knowledge of past fashion trends and an awareness of current industry developments will serve you well in a fashion merchandising career.

2. Analytical Ability - Problem solving and analytical ability also come in handy in this field. A
good sense of style obviously helps you; however, you must also determine how things fit into
a budget and whether they meet the functional needs of consumers. Other criteria may also
influence your fashion merchandising decisions, so you will need to be able to analyze a
complex set of issues and stand behind your choices.

3. Communication Skills - Fashion merchandising also requires good communication skills. From negotiating with manufacturers to getting your marketing message out to customers, there is ample opportunity to exercise your powers of communication in the fashion merchandising field.

Multi Level Marketing -MLM

Assalamualaikum.. Hi all..

As you all know, multi-level marketing is one of the marketing strategies available out there. It is clearly popular among you since so many of you are involve in this method of marketing. Some of you even got screwed over.

You have to understand that multi-level marketing involves selling products no matter what they say to you, there are still products to be sold. For example, CNI is known for its medicinal products, Hi-O known for its "Beautiful" and water filter, another one MLM company Avon for its cosmetics and accessories. These companies have been around for a while and they are ESTABLISHED. But, what I'm trying to say here is, don't be fooled by the gimmic saying that you don't have to sell stuff, you do... you know why?

Firstly :

You have to pay at least RM2000 to join the company

Secondly:

You have to find at least 2 "underline" to expand you market

Thirdly:

You have to maintain at least RM250 per month in order to get bonus, which most of the time is either coupons, 10% discounts, entitled in the running for a vacation and etc.

Questions you have to ask yourself before getting involve in any of these companies:

1. What do I know about personal selling?

2. Do I have the money to maintain minimum sales every month in order to get the BONUS?

3. Am I confident enough to approach others to join this business?

4. Once they join this business, am I certain that he/she will achieve what he/she wants?

5. Won't I drag my underline into trouble if I ask them into this business?

6. Will I be able to help my underline achieve their sales target?

7. Does he/she has the money to maintain minimum sales every month and if he/she ask to borrow money from me, will I be able to help him/her?

8. Am I positioned at the position the company promised me?

9. How much time do I have to put in to be a millionnaire?

10. Am I being realistic?

PLEASE BE REALISTIC! I'm writing from experience. I joined Clearmont Sdn Bhd when I was studying and I invested RM3500. The RM3500 was by scholarship money, which I never see again. I got make-up sets and tea and skin care product which each item worth the minimum of RM200!!! (Remember; be realistic). Afterwards, I coughed RM500 to join its motivational course which not at all different from the normal everyday seminar!!!

I'm so into it because they programed us to believe that make-up products are tainted with poisons and toxic. I believed them until I run out of money to pay for transportation fee to and from the meeting place, telephone bill, new wardrobe to look "professional", most of all, FRIENDS STEER AWAY FROM ME. When this happened, all they said to me was, "you have to face the risk in order to excel"... BUT, WHY NONE OF THEM WARN ME OF THE RISKS BEFORE I PUT RM3500 IN THE BUSINESS?????
I started working with RM0.00 and I have to borrow money from my parents. So shameful... :(

I'm sure you don't want this to happen. If you want to join this kind of marketing, please be aware of their promises. You can even come to me for advise. Please... you have to be wise because there are sharks out there lurking for students and newly graduates like you.
