A More Challenging Semester Ahead for DRM5 Students ;o)


Assalamualaikum and a great evening guys...


I've discussed with both your Retail Buying (Pn. Rohanah) and Entrepeneurship (Pn. Haslina) lecturers and we agreed to cooperate and integrate their courses with the ones I'm going to teach you; P4720 (Retail Operation 2).


As you all know, when you study in the fifth semester for this course, you have to really run a business which you build from scratch! It means that you have to start from ZERO and you have to provide some start-off capital. When I said zero, I mean zero plan and zero money.


Nevertheless, we will try to help you with some of the start-off capital, but this is just a priviledge and not a promise. We can only promise you that we will expose you with the know-how of running a business to gain profit. At the end of the lessons, you will be able to:


1. understand the responsibilities of a business manager

2. experience retailer-vendor negotiation

3. plan and arrange a store according to product selling and promotional demand

4. produce financial statements for the business

5. control inventory according to customer or market demand

6. use the most of the promotional tools to sell products

7. plan business

8. execute the roles of a store manager, a store supervisor, a cashier, a retail buyer, a negotiator, a planner and an executer... a business man or woman...


However, you will get the help of DRM3 help in executing your business because they have to practic P3917 Retail Operation 1 knowledge... You've gone through this course and you know what is required of them... Wallahu 'alam...


Please post any concerns and we can discuss them here and we're going to have a workshop for you so you'll have a clearer picture about this cooperation and intergration..

Competency Level Evaluation???



Hi all... I think most of my colleagues are sitting for this evaluation.. But the system for this evaluation process is changed to a more complicated form and the people at the administration didn't hold any kind of briefing to inform these people about their FUTURE!!!

I find this abnoxious... Think about it... They have to apply to sit for this evaluation process and they did it a few months ago, having in mind the system is still the same... This could really ruin people's future right... they were reminded to send in their papers for the evaluation, which they didn't know they have to write. We were told that our EO knew about this change a couple of months ago! No memos, no e-mail, no copies of the orders were circulated since then.

I don't want to point fingers but, the administration people should hold the briefing as the system changes along with the BIG HEAD's change...

Alhamdulillah, I'm not one of either parties... :oP

Hooray and Welcome for the New Lecturer


Assalamualaikum and good morning all...


Good news... We have a new lecturer in our program. Her name is Pn. Rosmanizah binti Derahman. She just came back from doing her Masters Degree in Marketing at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She will be teaching P2715-Fundementals of Retailing for Semester 2 students. She is funny, very considerate.. and if you play your cards right, she might invite you to her home and cook nice food.. ha ha.. You interview her yourselves if you want to know about her ok.. ;o)


So, I'll see you soon... But please remember, those who are suppose to register next week, please come on time so you can get the classes you want.


Stay safe, stay sane, stay healthy and have fun at home while it last... But once you're here, we're going to POLISH you and you have to WORK HARD ;o)
